Ziro is a UNESCO tentative-list valley of terraced paddy fields, bamboo groves and pine hills, home to the Apatani tribe and their remarkable rice-cum-fish cultivation. This 5-day escape from Guwahati via Itanagar gives you time in Old Ziro's villages, the Talley Valley wildlife sanctuary and the Kile Pakho ridge, at an easy, unhurried pace.

Tour itinerary
Day 1Namsai to ItanagarNamsai → Itanagar · approx. 420 km
Early pick-up from Namsai and drive along the Brahmaputra valley via Tinsukia and North Lakhimpur to Itanagar. Evening visit to Ganga (Gyakar Sinyi) Lake and the local market.
Day 2Itanagar to ZiroItanagar → Ziro · approx. 110 km
Morning at Ita Fort and the Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum, then the climb to Ziro valley through pine forest, arriving by late afternoon. Sunset at Kile Pakho ridge.
Day 3Apatani villages & paddy fields
Full day in Old Ziro — Hong, Hari and Bamin-Michi villages, meeting Apatani elders, the Tarin fish farm, the pine grove and the Meghna cave temple. Evening tasting of local rice beer and smoked meat.
Day 4Talley Valley trekTrek approx. 10 km round trip
Drive to Pange and trek into Talley Valley Wildlife Sanctuary through bamboo and silver fir forest, spotting orchids and Himalayan birds. Return to Ziro by evening.
Day 5Ziro to Namsai — departureZiro → Namsai · approx. 480 km
Early breakfast and the long, scenic descent from Ziro back via Itanagar and North Lakhimpur to Namsai, arriving by evening. Drop at your address or at Dibrugarh airport / station on request.
